T&J Harrison, operating under the banner of Harrison Line, established significant maritime operations in Liverpool, England, beginning in 1853 with both cargo and passenger services. The company's early focus included transporting French brandy imports from Charente. A key operational development occurred in 1871 when its vessels were consolidated under the Charente Steam-ship Company management structure. While active through pivotal shifts in global shipping, the entity formally ceased trading in October 2000, resulting in all residual rights and privileges being transferred to P&O Nedlloyd.
