The initiative, aimed at protecting local fisheries, targets the vessels that are catching the invasive species, which is threatening the livelihoods of fishermen like Stavros Moraitis. Moraitis, who has spent over three decades fishing in the waters off the Greek island of Milos, is no stranger to competition, but the recent influx of the invasive species has put a significant strain on his business.
