Able Bodied Seafarer

Job Title: Able Seaman (AB) - Large Vessel

Location: Coastal Maine

Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

The Role:

New DHC is seeking Able Seamen (ABs) to support deck operations, watch standing, and general vessel maintenance aboard our fleet of large vessels.

• Perform deck operations, including mooring, unmooring, and anchoring.


• Stand watch and maintain a high level of situational awareness at all times.


• Participate in general vessel maintenance, including cleaning, painting, and repairs.


• Assist in the operation of deck equipment, including cranes, winches, and davits.


• Perform other duties as assigned by the Officer of the Deck or Master.

Requirements:

• Valid STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) certificate.


• Valid Able Seaman (AB) certification.


• Valid Medical Certificate in accordance with STCW.


• Valid Radar Observer certification (if required for the vessel).


• Valid Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) certification (if required for the vessel).


• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical examination.


• Ability to pass a background check.


• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Vessel Type: Large vessels, including but not limited to, cargo ships, tankers, and passenger vessels.
