Able Seaman (AB) (Advanced) Position

We are seeking a qualified Able Seaman (AB) (Advanced) for a position on Kauai, HI.

Job Summary:
The Able Seaman (AB) (Advanced) is a Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) crew position aboard assigned US NAVY Range Support Craft for the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) at Barking Sands, HI.

Responsibilities:

• Perform deck maintenance and upkeep, including painting, cleaning, and repairing deck equipment.


• Assist in the operation of the vessel, including standing watch and performing duties as required.


• Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures.


• Perform other duties as assigned by the Master or Officer in Charge.

Requirements:

• Must hold a valid Able Seaman (AB) (Advanced) Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) issued by the United States Coast Guard.


• Must have completed a minimum of 12 months of service as an Able Seaman (AB) (Advanced) on a US Flag vessel.


• Must have completed a US Navy-approved Able Seaman (AB) (Advanced) training program.


• Must be able to pass a US Navy-approved physical examination.


• Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a Secret security clearance.

Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will be required to work on a US NAVY Range Support Craft in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The vessel will be operating in a variety of weather conditions, and the candidate must be able to adapt to changing circumstances.
