South Shields Marine School Marine Degrees and Engineering Certification Electrical Lecturer

Permanent, 37 hours per week

Lecturer Salary Scale: Spine Points 25 to 33

Salary: £33,496 to £43,471 per annum

Plus, an additional recruitment and retention premia is available.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Teach and assess students on a range of marine engineering and electrical subjects to degree and certification levels.

  • Develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials and resources.

  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum and assessment strategies.

  • Supervise and support students in their academic and professional development.

  • Contribute to the development of the department and the school.


Requirements:



  • A relevant degree in a marine engineering or electrical subject, or a related field.

  • Postgraduate qualifications or experience in teaching and learning.

  • Membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. IMarEST, IET).

  • Experience of teaching and assessing students to degree and certification levels.

  • Knowledge of current developments in marine engineering and electrical subjects.

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to students and staff.


Working Conditions:



  • 864 teaching hours per annum.

  • 48 days' annual leave per year, inclusive of bank holidays.
