Job Description

Maritime Blasting and Coating Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maritime Blasting and Coating Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the blasting and coating of vessels, including:




  • Operating and maintaining equipment such as sandblasters, shot blasters, and other tools used in the maritime blasting and coating industry.

  • Using vacuum bottles, compressed air, and other tools to prepare surfaces for coating.

  • Applying coatings to vessels, including primers, paints, and other protective coatings.

  • Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with company safety procedures and regulations.

  • Participating in the company's Employee Assistance Program.

Requirements:




  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the maritime blasting and coating industry.

  • Valid STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) certification.

  • Valid MED (Medical Certificate) certification.

  • Valid BST (Basic Safety Training) certification.

  • Valid GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) certification.

  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.



Preferred qualifications:




  • Experience with blasting and coating of vessels, including tankers, bulk carriers, and container ships.

  • Experience with various types of coatings, including epoxy, polyurethane, and paint.

  • Knowledge of maritime regulations and safety procedures.
