Able Seaman (AB) Position

Amentum is seeking an Able Seaman for a position on Kauai, HI.

Job Summary:

The Able Seaman (AB) is a Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) crew position aboard assigned US NAVY Range Support Craft for the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) at Barking Sands, HI.

Responsibilities:

• The AB is a junior crew member responsible for assisting the Bosun and other senior crew members in the performance of their duties.


• Perform tasks as assigned by the Bosun or other senior crew members, including but not limited to:




• Assisting with deck maintenance and upkeep.


• Participating in navigation and communication watch.


• Performing general maintenance and repair tasks.


• Assisting with cargo operations.

Requirements:

• Must hold a valid Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) issued by the U.S. Coast Guard.


• Must have completed a U.S. Coast Guard-approved Able Seaman (AB) training program.


• Must have a minimum of 6 months of experience as an Able Seaman or equivalent experience in a related maritime position.


• Must be able to pass a U.S. Coast Guard physical examination and a background check.


• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be willing to adapt to changing situations.

Working Conditions:

The Able Seaman will be working on a US NAVY Range Support Craft, which may involve exposure to harsh weather conditions, high noise levels, and other challenging working conditions.

Location:

The position will be based on Kauai, HI, with regular deployments to the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) at Barking Sands, HI.
