Lecturer in Marine Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lecturer in Marine Engineering to join our team on a part-time or full-time basis.




  • Job Type: Part-time or Full-time

  • Salary:

    • Qualified Teachers: £33,367 - £44,365 per annum (pro rata)

    • Unqualified Teachers: £26,436 - £33,367 per annum (pro rata)



  • Additional Benefits:

    • Annual Market Supplement: £2,974 per annum (pro rata if part-time)

    • Targeted Retention Incentive Scheme: £4,000-£6,000 per annum (depending on eligibility)





As a Lecturer in Marine Engineering, you will have the opportunity to teach and mentor students in a variety of marine engineering subjects, including:




  • Mechanical engineering principles and practices

  • Marine propulsion systems

  • Marine electrical systems

  • Marine electronics and communication systems

  • Ship stability and safety



Responsibilities will include:




  • Teaching and assessing students on a variety of marine engineering subjects

  • Developing and delivering curriculum content

  • Mentoring and supporting students in their academic and professional development

  • Contributing to the development of the marine engineering department



Requirements:




  • Relevant degree in a marine engineering discipline (e.g. BEng, MEng, or equivalent)

  • Postgraduate teaching qualification (PGCE, PG Dip or equivalent)

  • Experience of teaching and assessing students in a further education or higher education setting

  • Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles and practices

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
