Lecturer in Marine Engineering
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lecturer in Marine Engineering to join our team on a part-time or full-time basis.
- Job Type: Part-time or Full-time
- Salary:
- Qualified Teachers: £33,367 - £44,365 per annum (pro rata)
- Unqualified Teachers: £26,436 - £33,367 per annum (pro rata)
- Additional Benefits:
- Annual Market Supplement: £2,974 per annum (pro rata if part-time)
- Targeted Retention Incentive Scheme: £4,000-£6,000 per annum (depending on eligibility)
As a Lecturer in Marine Engineering, you will have the opportunity to teach and mentor students in a variety of marine engineering subjects, including:
- Mechanical engineering principles and practices
- Marine propulsion systems
- Marine electrical systems
- Marine electronics and communication systems
- Ship stability and safety
Responsibilities will include:
- Teaching and assessing students on a variety of marine engineering subjects
- Developing and delivering curriculum content
- Mentoring and supporting students in their academic and professional development
- Contributing to the development of the marine engineering department
Requirements:
- Relevant degree in a marine engineering discipline (e.g. BEng, MEng, or equivalent)
- Postgraduate teaching qualification (PGCE, PG Dip or equivalent)
- Experience of teaching and assessing students in a further education or higher education setting
- Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
