United States Mail Steamship Company

The United States Mail Steamship Company, a US-based passenger steamship line established in 1920 by the United States Shipping Board (USSB), operated a fleet of seized German ocean liners acquired during World War I as war reparations. However, the company's operations were marred by financial improprieties and substantial losses, prompting the appointment of receivers and a US District Court order to return its vessels to the USSB.
