Rederi AB Slite, founded in 1947 and headquartered in Nacka, Sweden, was a prominent shipping company with a significant footprint in the maritime industry. As one of the three founding companies of Viking Line, Rederi AB Slite played a crucial role in the development of this major shipping operator. Until its bankruptcy in 1993, the company maintained a diverse fleet comprising various vessel classes, including cruise ferries and cargo vessels. With a total capacity for carrying over 7,200 passengers and around 2,400 lane meters (approximately 7,500 square feet) of container space, Rederi AB Slite's maritime operations were characterized by its TEU capacity exceeding 1,000 units. The company's impressive fleet size was comprised of vessels with a combined deadweight tonnage of approximately 145,000 DWT.
