Pullmantur Cruises

Pullmantur Cruises, founded in 1988 and headquartered in Madrid, Spain, was the country’s largest cruise line, operating a fleet of three vessels including MV Horizon and two Celebrity Millennium class ships. Initially an offshoot of travel agency Pullmantur, it launched operations in the late 1990s and pioneered all-inclusive cruise offerings, though ships often lay up or chartered to operators like Viagens CVC during winter. Acquired by Royal Caribbean Group in 2006, a 51% stake was later sold to Springwater Capital. Filing for reorganization under Spanish insolvency laws in June 2020 due to the pandemic, the company began liquidation in mid-2021 following a Royal Caribbean-backed revival plan.
