Northland Transportation Company

Northland Transportation Company, a US-based shipping firm founded in 1923, operated a fleet of cargo and passenger ships serving Southeast Alaska from its base in Seattle. The company's fleet comprised six vessels at the time of its acquisition by Skinner and Eddy Corporation in 1942, with a notable 1,400-ton passenger ship built at Lake Washington Shipyard in 1934 using a $350,000 loan from the United States Shipping Board. Northland Transportation Company served various Alaskan ports, including Ketchikan, Wrangell, and Juneau, as well as Quinhagak, Alaska, and Kuskokwim Bay.
