Validity Period
5 Years
Requires a refresher course or revalidation every 5 years under STCW Manila Amendments 2010.

Because this certificate operates under the STCW Code A-VI/4-1, it is universally recognized by all 164 member states of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
While the actual certificate may be issued by a specific flag state's maritime authority (such as the UK MCA, USCG, DG Shipping India, or AMSA), the training standards and competencies evaluated are identical globally.
