Rosatom, operator of the Northern Sea Route via the Arctic, has issued permits for seven Chinese transit vessels to sail to Europe via the NSR.
The move is seen as a significant step in increasing trade between China and Europe, with the Arctic route offering a potentially faster and more efficient alternative to traditional shipping lanes. The NSR spans over 4,000 miles and connects the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean, passing through Russian territorial waters.
